November 5, 2014 - Outstanding. rich finesse full blueberry and blackberry notes, with a great smoky meaty nose. On the mouth: silky tannins, already integrating, seamless balance great acidity, great fruit great savory characteristics coming through very complex. Not cheap but unbeatable at the price point. Should handle many years more but drinking exceptionally well right now.

    June 27, 2014 - Beaucoup trop jeune.
    Elevage très marqué à l'ouverture.

S'est bien équilibré après 2 heures de carafe.

A attendre au moins 5 ans à mon avis.

October 26, 2013 - Guigal Château d'Ampuis - complete vertical tasting of 1995-2009 (Stockholm): Medium red, rather compact colur. Nose with strong green notes of stalks, grass and green pepper, cherries, some flowers; elegant. Palate with blackberries, blueberries, fine acidity, medium tannins, aftertaste with tart berries and mineral. Good balance, can take more cellaring, 90+ p.

Included as a pirate wine in a flight with Guigal wines, this definitely stood out with its strong green and herbaceous notes, and was easy to spot as a non-Guigal.

March 3, 2013 - Decanted and drank some over 4 or 5 hours, rebottled and recorked overnight. TN is on the wine the next morning. Labeled at 13% ABV

Deep red. Hints of flowers, vanilla cream under plums, garrigue, cherry, bloody meat, bacon fat, dust. A bit of pepper in the palate with plums, cherry, meat, crushed rocks, orange peel. Nice pop of acid at the end. Very fine tannins. Very good bottle, with many elements that I really enjoy, but it leaves me wanting something more...

Leave it alone for a while, or give it a longer decant.

December 21, 2012 - Tasted blind. After a sniff of 2 seconds I was ready shout this being a Northern Rhone Syrah, so typical of origin it is. Made in a classic style, that I very much prefer(not a fan of Guigal or Colombo). Nose is charming and stylish, showing mostly dark berries and cherries with black pepper. Also a bit smoky and earthy. Somebody had commented below this being "coffee", and "too oaky", I find it hard to believe he was drinking the same wine. This is actually quite refreshing and very drinkable already, and will age well too. An absolute classic and highly recommendable!
