February 12, 2013 - Lovely meaty nose, sweet saddle leather. Full in the mouth and still fairly youthful. Drinking now to 2015 at least. Good example of CH and French syrah.
December 7, 2012 - Dark purple, clear, no sign of age. Clean, dark fruits on the nose, but less typically Syrah than I expected - no pepper and spice. Nicely integrated tannins, nicely rounded fruits. Medium finish. This is nice enough but not great - clearly second compared to the Cape Mentelle Shiraz we tasted alongside it.
October 14, 2012 - Slightly reduced to begin with, but that funky blows off, better on the second day. Good fruit, ample tanin.
August 28, 2012 - I loved this wine. Dripping in terroir it has a beautiful nose and flavors of licorice, black cherry and an iron backbone. I did not expect much from this wine but was blown away. Drink it soon as it has surely peeked.
June 30, 2012 - Tasted this after the Delas Bessards 2007, so this never really had a chance. Some elements of spice, but hard to get over the green notes. 2007 was a stellar vintage in the Rhone, but the 2007 Crozes-Hermitage I have tried have all seemed green and stemmy to me. I think 2006 is a better vintage for the Crozes.
June 22, 2010 - Sans avoir la profondeur recherché, ce vin n'en présente pas moins un fruits généreux, rond, sur des tanins bien maîtrisés. Par contre on ne retrouve psa la typicité de la syrah, et cela diminue notre plaisir. Un bon vin pour accompagner un repas sans prétention.
