June 13, 2011 - From the ATP selection, this blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from Dry Creek Valley was perfectly aged in someone else's cellar before I took ownership of it! This was Ridge's first release of the varietal - and experiment which obviously did not prove too successful given they no longer make this wine. Lovely purple in the glass I found a rustic, but round nose which showed grilled bell pepper, white pepper and earth. The palate is medium bodied and fine. It still shows a little ripe cherry character, but ends with spice and cracked black pepper. Lovely long finish. This sangiovese has aged well. 35 barrels produced.

April 15, 2011 - Delicious, then declining. Superb tobacco infused red fruits - underline "tobacco." Delineated and focused, then falling off the cliff after a couple hours. Good, but this is not a varietal to keep of Paul's.

May 8, 2005 - Can taste the franc (10%). Smooth, floral, light red fruit, dusty cocoa. 88pts.
