January 4, 2024 - Consistently strong showing and this was the best bottle yet. Probably also benefitted from being drunk on its own rather than side by side other (possibly stronger) vintages as on some instances before to give it a chance to shine. And that it did - opened 2 hours before consumption and then savoured over 2 following hours the last glass was the best as it unfurled nicely. Lovely cherry on the initial attack, then some meatiniess, touch of smoke but really rather polished than animale, svelte tannins, a mid-weight wine, so elegant for a Gevrey and nothing too little and nothing in excess. For me at its apogee where it should hold for 10-15 years.

October 5, 2023 - Rousseau Clos St Jacques and Corton-Charlemagne Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): In vertical. Very characteristic of the 2007 vintage, this is balanced and charming, but on the light side for Rousseau's Clos St. Jacques.

October 5, 2023 - 09|07|06|02|01|96|90 vertical. Shows the vintage perfectly with lighter and more red fruit but plenty of lift that nicely show cases the meaty and spice-filled CSJ fruit. At peak and should hold at this level for 5+ years.

July 1, 2023 - Consistent with previous notes a success for the vintage and already showing well. In vertical with 88/94/95/96/99 it held its own overall and seems ready for business today but should of course hold for 10+ years.
