August 28, 2011 - Different day, different impression. Out of a saved half bottle and 24 hours, the fruit fleshed out considerably and the well judged new oak was more apparent. A very nice wine that offers decent value at the sale price it was bought at.

August 27, 2011 - Undemonstrative Beaune. Lovely black cherry aromas and flavours. Lean and slightly tannic palate. A good wine that may very well improve over the next 5 years, but I do not think it will ever become outstanding.

May 8, 2011 - Dark berries, tobacco and wet forest floor on the nose, blackberry and minerally on the palate. A tad too much oak, but should integrate in not too long. Clos de Vignes Franches is a Monopole, and a small part of the climat “Les Vignes Franches”, situated in the southern area of Beaune. Great value wine.

March 30, 2011 - Keith Francois dinner LS -- a leaner more minerally pinot next to the Mt. Eden we had, but well balanced with enough fruit esp for 07, good balance.
