  March 9, 2012 - Dark yet somewhat translucent crimson. Oak dominates the nose, with some raspberry and earth poking through. Medium bodied, the first sip was extremely woody; I had to put it aside for at least a couple of hours. Given that time, cranberries and bing cherries come out while still enveloped in dry herbs and woody tannins, tobacco, some heat, and a tart, dry, mouth puckering finish. I think there's good fruit in there that's trying to get out, but the oak treatment is getting in the way.

  February 21, 2012 - great example of a good merlot.. very tasty and drinkable.. nothing jumps out though nothing bad either.. would be great as a staple wine at home

  November 22, 2011 - Very enjoyable merlot. Pretty nose and palate, not too complex and medium finish. Very close to ninety point range. Great QPR.

  November 11, 2011 - First Cali merlot I've had in years and it was a great surprise. Excellent structure. Nice dark fruit up front with an almost eucalyptus finish. Very complex for the price. I would have though it was a cab over a merlot. I wish I had bought two bottles now.

  July 17, 2010 - PNP-Full bodied, a little sweet. Hints of some good fruit but seems hidden behind the tannins and acidity. Also has some slight astringency and bitterness. Oak/vanilla present with kind of a strange and empty finish and aftertaste. Overall it's a decent Napa Merlot for $15 and should integrate and may improve wth a more time.
