December 31, 2015 - Disappointingly evolved, overripe, flabby and obviously past its best. Maybe an off-bottle since I had this several times until recently and it was much younger and healthy.

December 24, 2015 - Dark but very clear ruby colour. Nose requires some coaxing and needs 45+ minutes to show up but gives nice red cedar, pine needles, tart cherry, some liquorice, and exotic /spicy perfumes. Some earth-driven aromas and maybe vanilla and cola. Pretty aggressive tannin, really teeth-coating, and intense acid. Big rhubarb, currant, and underripe red red berry fruit on the palate. Enjoyable now but come back in five more years to check in.

December 9, 2015 - Opened at a restaurant, decanted. Dark, dense and tannic still, with the tannins receding partially through the evening. Earthy, masculine wine. Needed about two hours in a decanter to coax the softer, fragrant aromatics and notes or cranberry bread, sap. Tight core of concentrated fruit integrated with oak should easily support 5-10 more years of cellaring. Not ready yet, not by a long shot.

November 28, 2015 - Third wine in a mini wine tasting event. Its has the best aroma of blackfruits and spices, "intoxicating" just from the nose, an experience which I have never tried after tasting drinking Luciano Sandrone's Cannubi Boschis. It is the most complex of all four wines tasted that day, with cherries, plums and berries on the palate, also sauces and coffee. Strong tannin and obvious acidity. It has an extremely long finish, and ends with tealeaves, chocolate and toffee. It performed the best today, and the prices were the cheapest of them all. Can't wait to try other products of Clerico.

October 17, 2015 - Big Barolo. Very dark color. Tannins still a little tight, but lots of bold red fruit flavor. Maybe a bit of raisin on the finish. Glad we drank this one now, not sure it will mellow further.
