One of the wines that in the last 30 years have made the history of the denomination in its entirety. The name of this wine reveals the importance of the vineyard: the "Ciabot" is a house among the vines, almost a shelter for tools; while "Mentin" is the owner from whom Domenico bought his plot of land.

Helles Rubin. Verhaltene Nase, wirkt kühler, verschlossener als 1998 und 2000, eher distanziert, nobel, öffnet sich mit Zeit und Luft, wird floraler, verspielter, bleibt geheimnisvoll, komplex. Im Gaumen frisch, saftig, elegant, top strukturiert, knackig, eher rotfruchtig mit sehr feinem Tannin und einem langen, feinwürzigen Abgang. Stilistisch für mich ein absoluter Hit und aktuell für meinen persönlichen Geschmack im besten Trinkfenster. Hat aber noch sehr gute Reserven. Trinken bis 2030. 19 vvPunkte (95/100)

Sattes, dunkles Rubin; feine und intensive Nase, leicht nach Veilchen, gebrannte Haselnüsse, etwas Schokolade und Lakritze; dichtes, sattes Tannin im Ansatz, baut sich mächtig auf, zeigt dann im hinteren Bereich aber auch leicht blättrige Noten, trocknet aus, wirkt so überextrahiert, könnte sich mit zunehmender Reife gut einbinden.
