October 19, 2014 - Really delicious, with great fruit, but a little burdened by oak that's a touch too prominent. Otherwise a showy "wow" wine, definitely in an international style

September 5, 2014 - Seattle Offline IV - Italian Wines (Henry's House (Seattle)): Subdued nose of damp earth, gravel and graphite. Rich and smooth, seamless, delicious palate. Sometimes when a wine is really good it is hard to pick out fruit descriptors because it is so integrated. Intense, concentrated flavors. Oak is totally integrated, tannins are resolved. Drank beautifully.

July 6, 2014 - Powerful nose of mokka, chocolate, dark ripe fruit, nice iodine... Super concentrated, but with tannins a bit too extracted, dark fruit, harsh tannins, will they ever integrate after 13 years... don't touch for the next 5 years (93+/100)

February 14, 2014 - very earthy from a flavor aspect, especially on the back end of the palate.

September 6, 2013 - Very dark with red edge. Nose has dark cherry fruit, smoke and spice. VA seems to blow off after half and hour. Cherry fruit, seems closed, though. Alcohol and oak make immediate impression. Medium body and concentration, unfocused. This has a slighty sour medium length finish with more than enough tannin. My wife and I debate as she likes it more than I. The flavours haven't developed yet it is starting to dry out. I payed way to much for this.
