March 24, 2014 - The bright dark ruby red colour was so inviting. The nose of red cherry, raspberry and blackberry and just a hint of wood and spice. The palate shows fine dusty tannins, tobacco and great acidity to carry the fruit to a long finish. So enjoyable now but I think it is still getting better.

January 29, 2012 - though wine it took 3 hours to open up for the first 3 it looked like the wine had been overtannined
but then it opened and all the fruit came out need to drink but it needs to be paired with another cab for contrast

December 26, 2011 - Dark purple color with ruby at the rim. There is no way this looks like a 15 year old wine. I am really impressed by the nose - black cherry, plum, menthol, tobacco, and herbs. The palate is packed with pure black cherry and plum while menthol creeps in and leafy tobacco and herbs round out the profile. Structurally, this has refreshing acidity and rounded tannins that give this full-bodied wine power without being overblown. The finish is long and polished. Overall, this is why I love Dick Arrowood's wines - polished and powerful without being heavy-handed, and they improve substantially with age.

September 17, 2010 - Decanted and drank over four hours. Dark purple in the glass, still opaque. Nose of dark fruits, with currants, plums, licorice, eucalyptus and graphite. Elegance and restraint on the palate, with black cherries, pencil lead, bay leaf and pipe tobacco. Long finish. Nice old world style Sonoma Cabernet.

June 14, 2009 - Deep and very rich. Still incredibly dark at age 14. The tannins are beautifully integrated, but retain a great grip. Amazingly long finish. Arrowood is always one of my favorites, and the 95 reminds me why. Still years of life ahead. Not sure how it can get much better from here, but certainly no signs of decline at all.

(Arrowood Reserve Speciale) The seventh wine of the night and second of this flight was another stinky nose, pungent but not green. It was a good dirty with some coffee, earth and mild stalk aromas. The palate was round and easy, not terribly defining but still possessing tasty bell pepper flavors. It was one of Justin.s favorites, who sensed some Cabernet Franc and called it a .kinky, whips and chains wine
