April 6, 2024 - Similar to prior notes after double decanting for 2 hrs; outstanding, but outshone by the 2012 VHR, drink or hold

March 25, 2024 - sublime oak juice, only i was looking for a sublime wine. it represents everything that is wrong with napa valley wines. i bet 99% of those who drink this have no idea what they are tasting. shameful

November 14, 2023 - Quick note: slo-oxed for a couple hours. Napa 07’s are tannic structured wines that need extra time. This is at the age where it can be decanted or slo-oxed into a great drink.
If I had more or a larger format bottle I’d hold off for 2-4 more years or more ideally! This wine needs time.

September 21, 2022 - Similar to prior notes after double decanting for 2 hrs, deep ruby, dark fruit with some vanilla, med/firm tannins, long finish. This bottle was just entering its prime drinking; outstanding, drink or preferably hold

February 1, 2022 - Similar to prior note after double decanting for 2 hrs, but tasted even younger (blind, I would have guessed 13); delicious, hold for at least another year or 2

January 7, 2021 - Double decanted for 2 hrs, deep ruby, dark fruit with some vanilla, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding, but still young for me & needs another year or 2 (at least)

August 16, 2020 - Absolutely elegant. Must decant for at least 60 mins. Paired with Steak Au Poivre and frites. Still has legs for many years.

December 19, 2019 - 14.5% ABV. I let it breathe for an hour then drank over two. Convex's notes below are on point for me. I repeat them. Except I'd note that the wine was WAY better on day 2 (was a 93 on day 1 and 95 on day 2). So if you have time to let this breathe for 4 hours, I suspect you'll find the wine far more enjoyable.

August 29, 2016 - Really nice. Blackberry with hint of caramel. Nice structure almost chewy. Long finish.
