August 9, 2023 - Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red and black fruits, spices, toast. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is velvety. Long finish. Drinking well now and will not improve. Drink up.

April 9, 2017 - Took a long time to open up. This is a great food wine, but I would not really go so far as to say it was a beautiful wine. It did not have the curves and smooth motion to be in that mood. Surprised to see a 20 year old that seemed like it still wasn't fully integrated, even though it seemed to have all the right fix'ins.

October 22, 2016 - A Brunello day (Singapore): Pnp with friends at home after dinner. After all those great Brunellos that day, I thought this was nice but not great. Good balance but the aromatics are gradually fading here, and instead of the bright fruit you are getting some black tea and other mature notes. Drink up.

April 17, 2016 - Great wine at what we thought was the peak of its maturity. The fruits have melded together for a dark rich flavor that still had enough acidic backbone to stand up to the grilled steak we had it with.

November 14, 2014 - Carpe Vino!; 11/9/2014-11/15/2014 (Tuscany (Florence, Montalcino, Siena)): Again a wine which on its own would have been stunning but suffered a bit from the amazing line-up (Solaia, Ornellaia, Masseto) we had on hand to compare against. I still very much enjoyed this wine - perhaps even more so on the second day when it had even more life. More of a barnyard first flavor, still some fruit, deep sour fruits and then with time kindof a sweet strawberry flavor poking through. Very nice tannins which have held up well. I thought it had a lot more years than CT drinking window (which ends in 2012) would suggest. Very nice wine.

September 9, 2012 - This is a very impressive wine which has not peaked yet. The nose is clean, with medium plus intensity. Black fruit, forest floor, spice and still developing. The palate is dry and consistent with the nose. Very balanced and showing smooth tannins with lots of structure. Full-bodied but with a long, elegant finish. This is a very complex and age-worthy wine, which should still continue to evolve for the next 3-5 years. This is the last of a case that we tried three and five years ago, and it keeps getting better and better. I believe the people that did not like it five years ago were just drinking it too young.
