November 15, 2016 - After a 2 hour double decant was drinking well. Well balances, earthy tones, tobaccos.

October 26, 2016 - A super wine, produced in a great style, that takes the best of the lush, ripe, sweet, fat, juicy, California Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, yet also serves up freshness, balance and harmony. I am sure this will get better, but why wait? It's just great today...

    October 9, 2016 - Bordeaux in style.

October 1, 2016 - Almost black in color. Blackberry, graphite, and spice with a terrific nose that outshines the palate. Still tannic, dark cherries, minerals, Bordeaux like in that it is more elegant and not highly extracted and likely in the early part of its drinking phase. From a split. Decanted. Lengthy finish but will improve as the tannins soften over time.

October 1, 2016 - Always my complaint with Opus, decent but over priced and over hyped. Compare this to even another Mondavi wine (like Continuum) and it's royally embarrassed. Worth trying, but not repeating.

Jet black color, nose is more intriguing than the palate, hint of vanilla from the oak, dark black raspberry, chalky tannins, medium/short finish. Could be more balanced & complex with better depth.

Knocked down a few points because the QPR is atrociously bad and 2007 is a stellar vintage for Cali Cab.

    Inexcusably mediocre considering the price.

If you want Bordeaux style Cali Cab done right just buy a bottle of Dominus
