January 5, 2015 - This is ready to drink. Nice ripe darker fruit and it still had some acidity and soft tannins. Glad it lasted so long and much preferred it to the 2001 of the same wine we also drank this evening.
August 1, 2014 - Upon opening the wine showed promise with raspberry nose but little flavor. At 30 minutes the wine is open, flavorful and robust. It was an excellent accompaniment for baked salmon dinner and dessert chocolate. Three hours later it has strong vanilla notes and soft tannins still in evidence. Very enjoyable wine. Drink soon.
October 1, 2011 - Needed to be decanted - initially, no nose. With time, opened up nicely. Juicy, balanced palate, shows its vineyard signature well. Nice wine.
February 9, 2011 - Still really good, our last bottle. Wish I liked the 2002 cuvee as well, we have lots of those bottles left.
January 3, 2011 - Decanted for over an hour. Medium body, nice fruit and tannins. Bill Hanson, assistant winemaker at Panther Creek, told us earlier last year that this was one of his favorites and was drinking real well then. We agree that it is very nice. We only have one more bottle of the 02 Bednarik.
December 12, 2010 - This was worth the wait. Mushroom, earth and spice box on the nose with a lot of dark fruit (ripe black cherries) and a hint of tannins that hold the fruit together.
December 6, 2010 - Still tasting good. Time to drink up.
March 7, 2010 - Drink up. Good aromatics, decentflavors, but lack acidity. Not to the extent of being flabby, but this just isn't going anywhere. Correct, but unexciting.
December 21, 2009 - An outstanding example of what OR pinot can be. Was an excellent pairing with seared duck breast with port wine & cherry reduction. Simply delightful.
December 8, 2009 - Didn't really have the time or proper glass to scrutinize this, but was quite pleased with how the wine is showing now. Flavors of black cherry, licorice, and oak. Nice weight and mouthfeel. Fairly smooth on finish. Impressed by how much fruit is present and will be reaching for this more often.
