September 13, 2015 - The nose had some pruney notes that were a bit concerning along with more comforting notes of beef stock but there was plenty of acidity on the palate. This is absolutely a food wine, it was great with pasta and spicy tomato/sausage sauce. On its own it's a tad rustic and clipped but give it some rich sauce and it hits the spot.

December 25, 2013 - Took a few hours of decanting to open up. Color is dark, bloody red at this point, with hints of the purple I'm sure once dominated. Minty herbs and cassis with blueberry-pomegranate juice on the nose. On the palate, all black berries with sharp baking spices. Medium length. I think it may be a little past its prime, but it was quite a treat with a spicy, medium-bodied cigar.

November 23, 2013 - Consistent with my previous TN of 4/6/12. Holding on nicely, and just a little softer on the finish. Still drinking well.

April 6, 2012 - Showing some bricking on the rim, drank better than expected. The fruit is still in good shape with mostly cherry and even a little raspberry with a hint of sweetness towards the finish as the tannins are fully resolved, but there is still some structure and grip on the finish, also with a bit of earth and leather and a medium level of acidity that makes for a nicely balanced and enjoyable wine.
