June 14, 2012 - Has evolved nicely and was better than I remembered. The oak has settled down and still enough fruit and structure. Holding up better than I expected. Not complex but very pleasant.

February 22, 2012 - {screwcap, 13.9} Pale garnet. Slightly developing, mostly cherry/strawberry aromas but with a touch of pastrami/prusciutto. Palate is pretty friendly, with only soft powdery tannins, medium acidity giving it a spine, and softly developing red fruit flavours with a touch of char/smoke. They're a bit simple, but the wine manages a medium-length finish. Light-medium body. At the price, from a boutique area, you wouldn't complain; there's nothing wrong with this; authentic, competent, satisfying. It's not grand cru, sure, but as a mid-week effort with pork fillets in a soy/sherry sauce, it did a decent job. On this showing, will hold together - and possibly evolve somewhat - for the next 3-5 years easily.

April 8, 2011 - {screwcap, 13.9%, A$28} Garnet red, with a orange tinge to it. Developing nose of musk, brown leaves, cured meats, rotting strawberries. Grows ever sweeter as it sits in the glass. Palate is smoky, with some juicy jubey strawberry fruits, but also with a earthy, liquorice-like aspect to the flavours. Soft dusty tannins remain, along with the weight of the flavours, on the mid-palate; the wine finishes with short-medium length, and light-medium weight, and pretty dry, it has to be said. Decent for the price, on the simple side by world-wide objective measurement.

June 4, 2010 - {screwcap, 13.9%, A$28} Garnet. Twiggy, sappy, tobacco-infused nose. Still some cherry fruits beneath, though - no-one's going to mistake it for Burgundy. The palate is crisp and even a little tart; refreshing dark cherry fruits with only a dash of oak, and still with that tobacco note to the flavours. Decent coverage of the front and middle palates; the medium-length finish just ends with a touch of warmth. Medium bodied; it won't convert sceptics to pinot, but for the money it's OK. Best within 5 years, I think.

July 16, 2009 - More intense cherry nose, good balance, good acidity, more cherry on palette and a little sage, not long
