October 5, 2019 - Still great with the end nowhere in sight.

May 7, 2012 - Very dark golden color. Beautiful and complex nose of menthol, pine tar, golden raisins, almonds, grapefruit, white flowers and earth. A little bit of citrus on the attack which than transitions to a thick, rich stew of oxidative minerals but also thick rich fruit all balanced with light texture and prominent acids. A great food wine - went well with haddock, but also paired suprisingly well with some braised pork belly. A pleasure to drink, both intellectually and physically.

January 15, 2012 - Beautiful old wine. Tasted over three days. Initially it was oxidative; almost orange with a creamy, cloudy citrus note (but not unpleasant). The second day it was clear with light citrus and honey, and the third, it was even more delicate. With food, on the third day, it did not wilt with strong flavors, but accentuated them like a light vinaigrette.

November 15, 2010 - Grenache with Dan P (Estadio, Washington DC): This wine opens with some really round butterscotch and oil. Expansive in the nose but refined. It is round and quiet soft, something akin to an aged Puligny Montrachet. Some lemon and gravel as well on the nose but not a lot of precision. The wine holds up aromatically but never really explodes or gains more depth. A very pleasing experience and a relatively wonderful value at good retail. A wine I'll look to buy more of.

July 29, 2010 - Bellingham Grand Crew Visits Spain: A subtle beauty. Amber suggesting some age. Light bodied. Toasty nose. A little bit of nice mid-palate bitterness which increased its appeal. Big attack to a decrescendo finish. Still fairly youthful.
