April 15, 2022 - Subtle, easily approachable with short decant. Just plain tasty. Wouldn't hold a lot longer. And the Erna labels are almost as good as the wine, crazy robot blenderhead.

September 2, 2017 - Quite nice with a dry aged Prime steak... No need to decant. If you like Lewis or Neal or those fruit forward cut with a steak knife wines then this is for you

September 16, 2016 - Classic fruit bomb from B&H, but plenty of sophistication too. Nicely layered black and blue fruits, very smooth, long finish. Still at least a few more top years left in this wine.

January 22, 2016 - Very smooth and in a great place right now. A Bordeaux blend (mostly) with a heavy dose of 11% PV and a 7% Syrah wild card. Fruit dominated as you can almost guarantee will be the case with B&H/Erna Schein labels, but the alcohol is pretty well integrated and not a distraction.

December 26, 2013 - A much different wine than the 08. Nice fruit compared to the coffee cigar box of 08.

April 4, 2013 - Super-ripe on the nose and although that settled down a bit, this was a very ripe, fruit-forward wine of little complexity and even less finesse. Although there was not the quirky acidity of bottles past, I don't hold this offering in any higher regard than most other E.S. offerings drank over the past few years. Give me the Behrens & Hitchcock wines of old and I'd be a much happier camper.

April 29, 2012 - Pure, opaque purple color. Cassis and lead pencil on the nose. Good structure; balanced tannin and acidity. Juicy wine with medium body and finish. I have never tasted a Behrens Family wine that was austere in any way. This was typically delicious and easy to drink.
