June 30, 2014 - The wine was awesome as we opened -- elegant, energetic and very masculine grip from some fine tannins and a very solid core of dark cherries and berries. The wine completely closed down after about an hour.

Drank the remaining half bottle 24 hours later (with just the cork re-inserted) and the wine had really mellowed out -- soft on the palate and well a bit boring . . .

Day 1 suggested of more wondrous days ahead and day 2 caused me to at least question that conclusion a bit. My rating based on the first 30 mins to an hour alone would definitely have been higher.

June 9, 2012 - Casual dinner at Home (Vancouver, BC): Popped and poured and singing right from the first moment with ripe (but Burgundian) pinot fruit, Asian spice and hints of sous-bois. In the mouth dark cherries dominate with a ripe yet elegant profile, great acidity, fine tannins and a lengthy finish. As good as this is now, its best days are ahead of it. Give this 3-5 years. Punches well above its weight. Excellent. 91+

January 22, 2012 - This wine has perfect pinot pitch. The nose is so beautiful - has power, but retains such elegance and faint perfume. On the palate the wine has taken the time to smooth and settle. But there is still structure and a bit of grip. Lovely sous-bois here. Fruit is quite present, but silky and perfectly ripened red fruit...nothing black about this one! If this were served blind, I'd say most would guess Chambolle and some would guess 1er Cru - it is that good. Delicious, and batting well over its weight.
