May 26, 2015 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $80+ (Bin 75): Bright yellow green; almost marzipan on the nose, leesy, lemon, chalk dust, mandarin orange; sappy, rich, taut, faint butterscotch, lemon, some seawater, flinty finish; unmistakably Chablis after previous wine; very good.

May 17, 2015 - 3 Bougros Chablis: A yellowing colour. Not a very fresh bouquet, not mineral or marine. A fairly bland citric nose, with a cheesy, lactic element. On palate, decent acidity. Unctuous and viscous, Mark said. His 2012 Martinborough Vineyards Chardonnay was much more lively and lifted, with brighter acidity. The palate here was flowery yellow apples, some tropical fruits, and again a touch lactic. We did not detect TCA or see premox but this was perhaps a bad bottle, a little tired and possibly slightly oxidised. Not really a Grand Cru Chablis experience, but not awful.

May 5, 2015 - Dobbeldekantert og luftet i 2 timer. Røyk, mineraler, sitrus, steinfrukt, anis, sjø. Medium syre, medium konsentrasjon. Sitter ganske lenge. Flott og moden chablis, har hatt godt av noen års flaskemodning. Trodde ikke Servin kunne lage såpass bra viner. Overraskende bra.

  • HowardNZ Likes this wine:

July 19, 2014 - 2007 Burgundies for Brodie and Raz (Wellington, New Zealand): Pale lemon. Aromas of limes, lemons, green apples, granite and minerals. Quite a primary nose. On palate, the acid profile was much more prominent, blind you could not see any link with the Fèvre Bougros. Seeming very primary, quite rich, the acids perhaps a little aggressive. Serious structure, scale and power on this wine, but lacking the elegance and balance of the Fèvre. Perhaps give this wine 2-3 years.

August 19, 2011 - Straw color. Aromas of almond, mineral, lemon-grass, fusel oils, with emerging citrus. Profound notes of juniper and lime, backed with opulent citrus and mineral notes. Excellent acid balance. Hints of richness throughout. Medium to long finish with notes of apple. Excellent.
