June 17, 2019 - Kracher and Roumier Dinner with Gerhard Kracher (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Reductive start so I thought there was potential as it opened up, but several of us thought this also slightly corked, even if the vigneron amongst us disagreed.

November 4, 2015 - 2015 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2015-11/9/2015 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Very fat and ripe nose, mango and a hint of citrus, light caramel and anise. Medium concentration, round yellow fruit driven palate impression, a hint of mineral, slightly lacking acidity and medium finish. It is enjoyable but not quite the level of the domaine whites. Perhaps it is the vintage.

September 24, 2015 - La Paulée Meets Chicago - Dinner (Blackbird - Chicago IL): Small pour, brief note. Orchard fruit with very good spice. Certainly fresh enough, just not as powerful and dense vs when last tried a few years ago, and that bottle was from the same source.

June 6, 2013 - Leroy Dinner (Grace - Chicago IL): Slightly restrained fruit aromas to start with good spice. Apple and some stone fruit hints on palate, also slightly backward, clearly showing great long-term potential but needing more time in cellar. In a great flight of 4 vintages of this wine, 1990-2004.

November 11, 2012 - WWS 2012 - a few TNs including DRCs, Coche Dury, Rousseau and others; 11/8/2012-11/11/2012 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Fat, fresh, oily and lacking acidity, not bad but nothing remarkable.

November 21, 2011 - Leroy Dinner (Carlos - Highwood, IL): Not terrible but somewhat oxidized. Tasted 10 years older than a 1999. Unfortunate since it was served alongside the sensational Maison Leroy 1999 Meursault from both Charmes and Genevrieres.

March 15, 2011 - Very different wine from the one I had few months ago. No obvious oxidation and off aromas this time. This is a mature wine but with some freshness still in it. Not great aromatic or flavor intensity but has subtlety and elegance. Slight notes of tropical fruits, grass, dried nuts and smoke and honey, silky texture and nice, almost salty finish. Interesting but very expensive wine for what it is.

October 7, 2010 - Medium lemon. Nose evolved with evident signs of oxidation. Boiled vegetables, cabbage, potatoes, mineral and iodine notes. Fruit is long gone. Medium bodied with oxidation more evident here, walnuts, sea weeds. Tried very hard to like this wine, which has complexity but evidently is past its best and won't get any better. Long finish but very idiosyncratic. Because of iodine notes might pair well with oysters. Drink up.

March 25, 2010 - Pretty good white with nose of honey, citrus, however palate quite simple and finishes with slight oxidative note, started to drop in performance after 1.5hrs, drink up!
