Vineyard notes: "The two parcels are located on the lower part of the slopes at the entrance to the Combe Lavaux. This appellation is usually the last one to be harvested (along with the Clos Saint Jacques), due to the cool breezes at night, which lengthen the maturation time of the grapes. The soil is composed of 33% limestone with a 25 cm layer of fine gravel washed down from the slopes of the Combe Lavaux. Along the top of the vineyard the vines grow in Premeaux limestone and further down, the soil becomes calcareous clay. Both these soils originate from ancient rocks which date back to the Bathonian era are dark in colour with a predominance of clear limestone."
