March 15, 2024 - Bright ruby red with the smallest hint of browning at the edges. Immediately smells like raspberry candy and brilliant red fruits which opens to an earthy cedar. Significantly less Bordeaux funk than its bigger sibling but the undertones are there. Palate was initially of cherries and then it closed down for an hour or so. Tannins are fully integrated and well rounded. Emerged to cranberries and cherries with an oak backbone. At its peak but not going anywhere soon.
March 9, 2024 - Fabulous with a simple meal. This wine and vintage has a lot of years left in the cellar!
January 28, 2024 - Fruit forward (for a Bordeaux). Nice soft integrated tannins. Medium plus weight. Very nice wine. Drink soon.
December 29, 2023 - Still youthful & tight. Better on days 2 & even 3! Sit for another 5-10 years.
December 10, 2023 - Annual Tasting Group Holiday Party (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Very dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour. This had a 1 hour double decant. I thought this drinking pretty well, open and giving, pretty dark fruits, it had some volatility on the palate, so I still think maybe this is a better short term drinker.
November 20, 2023 - Pop & Pour … elegant and balanced.
October 17, 2023 - Better on Day Two (with just a VacuVin from day one). Awesome juice.
October 16, 2023 - Still young. Has lots of life left. Drank from 375ml.
September 17, 2023 - Drank at Daniel’s in Genoa, NV celebrating Lai’s BDay and our 51st wedding anniversary. Was not at its peak? But did taste its dark fruit and tannins.
September 4, 2023 - Incredible balance of red fruit/dark fruit and earth/fruit balance. This showed very well at a tasting of 2000 Bordeaux. Guessing that in about 5 years it will hit it's apex. (Drank after 3 hour decant)
