April 8, 2015 - Another great bottle, perhaps the best of my lot. Gorgeous nose. Deep, gentle, persistent palate with a little spice and vanilla. Reminds me closely of the few Cote Rotie's I've tried. WOTYTD 5+12+19+9 = 95

November 3, 2014 - Followed for four days open and still going strong at the end.
Color is very dark, inky purple. Almost fully opaque with very slow, heavily stained legs. Minor sediment.
Profound aromas of black fruits and kirsch, light smoke, and mature notes of oxidation starting to show.
Palate is wonderfully smooth and silky with plenty of ripe fruits hanging in there. No sense of heat and the tannins are nearly invisible. The acidity is still providing good salivatory inspiration.
Long, drawn out finish where some sandalwood and dirt make a gentle statement. Right in the zone now and could go another year or two.
    5+11+19+8 = 93

June 10, 2014 - Time to check in on this again and it's coming along very nicely. This time, I only had to wait one day instead of two for it to spread it's wings. Secondary development in full effect and going in the right direction. Texture is silkier, bouquet is more complex and still carries the bright lavender, jasmine, licorice, and purple berries over the limestone and spices of the foundation. So happy to have 4 more.

March 20, 2013 - Notes after 3 days open. Heavy sediment. Color is a dark royal purple, 95% opaque with very slow and stained legs on the glass. Wound up tight and volatile for the first 2 days, this stretched out and became very harmonious after enough airtime. Bouquet of blackberry, lavender, bacon, jasmine, peppermint, green tea, and roses. Luscious but vibrant palate with some real acidity and a big umami factor. Seductive and long finish. It was quite out of joint on the second day and I had a little doubt about it's structure. Day 3 convinced me that this is a wine to wait another 2+ years on. 5+12+17+8 = 92

January 27, 2012 - Oxidized on the finish, but cork was fine. Flawed for sure, but not clear why.
