January 8, 2024 - Transparent light ruby. No bricking! Dusty, floral nose. Beautiful light, wild strawberry palate. No sediment. None of the edges of tannin or acidity are there but still seems youthful somehow.

March 10, 2023 - Opened and poured. Light garnet. Some aggressive stalkiness which quickly receded to show balsam wood, red fruit, and spice. Delicate, subtly sweet, outstanding acidity, mineral underpinning, and gentle, long finish. Another extremely successful bottle of this which held up very well during a 2 1/2 hour meal. These have generally been a great delight and offered incredible value.

The next day, the fruit is still hanging on, but it really shows more chocolate plus its minerality and soil. Quite a showing for a "minor" 53 year old wine.

January 21, 2023 - Opened, immediately decanted for light sediment, and poured. Light tawny/garnet color but no browning. Some early VA and balsam wood on the nose, then gentle red fruit and spice with late celery stalk and pepperiness that stuck out a bit. Light to medium bodied, quite silky in the mouth. Subtly sweet, plummy fruit that is amazing for its age, brisk citric acidity, cinnamon, and some bitter chocolate richness at the end without any tannin to get in the way of a graceful fading finish. I've had remarkable luck with these bottles over the years, and this one lasted well over 2 hours and was every bit as good as one back in 2017.

Gran botella.

    May 13, 2022 - Brownish/reddish color, a bit like stewed strawberry juice..
On the nose some rose petals, leather dust, dusty tannins.
Very soft and subdued, not outstanding features anymore; everything seems to have melted together.
A fine wine, easy to drink but no outstanding or memorable characteristics.
