April 22, 2023 - Champagnes and dinner with Alan and friends: Knew the producer so guessed it as a 06 GCDO as it had quite a bit of heft and rounded red fruit. Full-bodied and more approachable hence I thought this wasn’t a CdC, was also commenting that if blinded I’d always think Vilmart as a Pinot-heavy champagne. For a supposed weaker vintage this was well-balanced despite the high dosage that is always evident with Vilmart. Always a winner for me.
