March 17, 2017 - Nice and fresh bouquet with honey-melon, almonds, starfruit and green apple. Attractive and rich on the palate with yellow and greenish fruits as melon and lemon. Excellent acidity. In a better condition than expected and remains like that on the next day.

March 19, 2016 - Fully ready to be enjoyed and each sip. Mature fruits now giving away residual sugar which is surfing on the oily waves of ripe peach, melon, honey and a hint of nutmeg. Generous presence on the palate but not at all heavy and I would have mistaken this with a very nice Alsace, probably going for Pinot Gris, rather than other varieties. Nevertheless it went perfectly well with Onion tart as well as Foie gras terrine. Beautiful wine indeed. Cheers,

September 29, 2015 - Honeyed gem here. Dark gold color, oily texture reminiscent of late harvest Alsace, pure and yet, complex. Good earth, good fruits and a slight residual sweetness is making this bottle as compelling as any other Macon could. A real pleasure provider at a reasonable price. We need way more of those!~ Cheers,

October 9, 2014 - Rich nose of honey, peaches, green tea, tangerine, hazelnut vibes and almonds.
Dry but rich and rather concentrated effort. Ripe and evolved fruit profile. Honeyed to sugary richness without sweetness. Greasy nuts to metal character. Slight liquorice, aniseed and copper. Towards the end a bit thin and bitter. Like cucumber peel but more so. Some almond to hazelnut oxidation character.
Somewhat drinkable, but I do regret not opening this sooner. The richness isn't there anymore and there's just no way this could evolve into something more elegant.

July 13, 2013 - On the nose exotic fruit, green apple. Taste: passion fruit, apricot, some minerality. Incredibly balanced. Such a sexy wine.

June 17, 2013 - Beautiful bottle of wine. Tropical fruit, discreet minerality, hint of bt, acidity just right. Such a balanced effort. Long, too.

April 20, 2013 - This heavily concentrated and a bit fat Viré-Clessé 2004 was produced by E.J. Thévenet from the Domaine de la Bongran. Its colour had a lot of juicy colouring. The nose surprised me with its freshness and intensity. It showed plenty of fresh and intense lemon scents, a bit fire-cracker and a significant amount of vanilla. The taste was very dense, very concentrated, definitely a bit lush, creamy, maybe a bit impetuous and showed versatile flavours of lemons and traces of dark berries. The mineral character seemed pretty okay as well. The only issues for me were alcohol related. There was a slightly exaggerated alcohol presence. Those 14 % were present, not dominating, but present! Anyway, an absolutely decent aged Chardonnay with a lot of life and character

January 28, 2013 - As previously notes, taste closer to German Riesling than appellation close to Beaune. Fruity, acidic. 14 percent alcohol.
