March 23, 2013 - Age has imparted a deeper yellow color; but still exhibits lively citrus aromas; rich mouth feel of creaminess with "marzipan" feel with highlights of bright lemon. Awesome!

March 28, 2012 - A pale yellow color, 14.3% abv. Not sure if I have ever had this particular varietal before. The nose leaps out with a very odd strawberry and cracked white pepper quality, with definite anise in the mix. The nose is very open and inviting, and delicious. In the mouth, the medium-bodied wine presents the pepper singing behind bright citrus fruit and ample acidity, with a lingering sweetness to the white fruit profile during the moderately long and voluptuous finish. There is zing, minerality, fruit...this wine is really delicious. Has a few great years ahead of it, IMHO. Bravo.

August 1, 2011 - We shared this with friends and no notes were taken, but it was widely enjoyed. Very well balanced with a floral, slightly sweet honey nose with stone fruit and spice. The body had weight but with a clean finish framed by modest but effective acidity and minerality. Drink up!

July 4, 2011 - Floral aromas with a hint of citrus and wet stones. Nicely balanced. Finishes with a slightly bitter quality that is surprisingly refreshing.

January 14, 2011 - Got this bottle from the winery's wine club for $21.60 (list price $27) and drank with Alton Brown's 40 Cloves of Garlic and a Chicken, along with veggies and rice pilaf.
This is another (almost boringly) wonderful, consistant, quality wine from TC.
The nose suggests spice, mineral, earth, and tropical fruits.
The first thing to hit the palate is white pepper and other suggestions of spices (when's the last time you could say that about a white?!?!). After the spice(s) subside, the wine's fruits (green grapes, pineapple, mango, and hints of kiwi) and barrells-full of minerals and stones are next up to the plate. As is typical of Rhone whites, this wine has a very firm, substantial structure; the tannins and acidity lend this wine to age gracefully much more than Charodonnay or Sauvignon Blanc could ever hope for. The wine exhibits a mouth-coating waxiness that, along with the smooth, tannic structure, makes this wine an almost-perfect food-pairng white. The wine went wonderfully with the garlic chicken and would probably also pair well with crab cakes, linguine with clam sauce, most sushi, most grilled fish, and almost all Asian seafood dishes (like stir-fried fish fillet).
If you've had it up to HERE with Chardonnay and Sav Blanc, this just may be the white you've been craving/searching for. This is a spicy, smooth, mouth-filling, delicious/intricate white that most wites will envy forever due to it's complexity and depth of flavors/character. As usual, job very well done, Neil Collins (TC's winemaker).

December 5, 2010 - White flowers and honey on the nose. Crisp acidity but a very smooth mouthfeel. Rich finish. More like a blend with some Roussanne than a varietal GB.
