July 31, 2012 - Very sweet and a little sickly. Would be fine in small doses with a chocolate dessert.
April 11, 2010 - More raspberry wine than grape. At first it was kind of refreshing, although very sweet. As the bottle sat there, the fruitiness started to muddle. I kind of wish I had another bottle to try an experiment: reduce it down and add some chocolate as an ice cream or cake topping.
April 17, 2009 - This tastes like a raspberry wine. Very sweet to the point of being a little disgusting. We drank it after roasted chicken, ladies liked it, guys hated it.
February 15, 2009 - This dessert wine was as expected - sweet with black raspberry and a bit of stemminess. Uncomplicated but it paired beautifully with chocolate lave cake.
December 30, 2007 - Not nearly as great as I thought it would be. Hopefully decanting would help... but our crowd was unimpressed with its flavor and lack of complexity. Secretly hoping it was the framboise... Oh well.
September 23, 2007 - yummy, as always. a bit on the sweet side.
July 9, 2007 - Not my cup of tea although some may like it. Super sweet with lots of alcohol and black rasberry flavors. Like jell-o that didn't jell.
July 8, 2007 - Dark purple color. Raspberry and blackberry flavors, but very, very sweet. A touch artificial. My bro's TN ("like jello mix that didn't set") nailed it. I wasn't crazy about it and it wasn't a big hit with the family. If I had any more I'd let them age and see what happens.
June 4, 2007 - Very viscous and sweet. This is very chewy and heavy. Not subtle at all.
March 12, 2007 - Left half the bottle on the counter; didn't bother to refrigerate because I wanted it to oxidise a bit. It definitely made a positive difference. I'm thinking a couple of years in the cellar or an hour or two in the decanter will pay dividends.
