Community Tasting Notes 4

April 12, 2024 - double decanted, brown throughout, tired fruit, some structure, perfectly drinkable and a treat of course but objectively well past its best. G (15).....I had a Montrose 18 in late 80s which was remarkably fresh, nuanced and drinkable; my sense is that the vintage is much better than the books will tell you; at this age cellarage is all. it is of course the ladies' vintage with nearly all men in the trenches!!!

June 22, 2019 - Richter Raritäten Vol.VII (Magnums only) (Farnsburg): Clear, light brick color. Slightly oxidative but just a touch, tomato, fresh vegetables, coconut (?), slightly metallic. Good acidity, good length, still a pleasure to drink.

September 28, 2018 - Dark color, too dark. Antiseptically clean and sweet. Felt fortified with something or another.

May 21, 2016 - Richter Raritäten Degustation Volume IV - Magnum Edition (all wine out of Magnum): Earthy, leather, hint of butter, still quite nice
