July 8, 2021 - 1973 Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin
48 years old Champagne.
Tasted blind. Thought as a 70s vintage Champagne. Shinny amber color. Madeira like honey, dried prune, coffee and marzipan with creamy, macerated sour lemon notes. Very slightly noticeable frizzy. Superb acidity giving it a lively backbone. Rich, exotic, lingering with good texture. A delicious treat!
1973 is an exceptional Champagne vintage, as evident in this bottle. -

December 28, 2014 - SLDS Christmas with Gavin: Spice, caramel, ginger and toffee apple aromas. Still has some freshness from the acidity over the caramelised fruit notes. Nice light sweetness to it. Drink now obviously.
