March 21, 2017 - Very soft and round with a lovely ethereal texture amidst flavors of smoky black fruits and dark spices. Finishes smooth but not as complex as I would've hoped.

March 19, 2017 - BYO dinner with Ray/Shaun/CVA/Fabian - Bordeaux and "ABC" Whites... (The Milling Room - NYC): This was one of my contributions for the evening. Bottle bought at auction several years ago. Decanted for about 45 minutes prior to drinking, consumed over 2 hours.

Deep ruby color, mild seperation. Nose of red fruits, truffle pencil/graphite, underbrush and violets. Palate showing dusted black fruits, plums, pomegranate, floral notes, and baking spice. Velvety texture, classic Right Bank wine. Medium weight, long finish that showed secondary notes of red fruits and spice.

This was an elegant, mature (IMO) Bdx that showed beautifully this night. Pomerol at its best...Tannins still present, suggesting a long arc ahead but drinking very well now. WOTN against some strong competition!

December 10, 2016 - This wine was fantastic right out of the bottle. Obviously some age, but full of gorgeous sweet candied fruit. I expected it to be good but not that good. Not sure if it's going to improve from here, but it's in a great place now.

November 13, 2016 - Double Blind 1990 Bordeaux with a Big Infusion of Show Stealing Old Napa (Jason and Tracy's, Mpls, MN): Very dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass blind (initially) over an hour. Wow, really nice nose, everything in its place, well integrated, and seamless, plum, cassis, horse barn, earth, pencil, pomegranate, cherry and a long finish. This was lovely, wine of the flight.

November 12, 2016 - Absolutely stunning. Still has time, decanted and after only an hour it had opened up in an amazing way. Lots of structure with tannin, damp earth - really can experience the 'terroir'.
