November 19, 2016 - Really drinking well. Bricking with a nice nose. A complex and interesting palate, meat and herbs integrated with some nice fruit. Very pretty wine right now, hard to believe this will get much better.

November 11, 2016 - Pure and aromatic. It smells of musk, meat and earth. It is sweet and vinous with a savoury edge. There's good detail and a strong line of minerally acidity. It is silky and satisfying, drinking magnificently today.

July 3, 2016 - Very curious about this wine. My experience with the '08 vintage has shown me that the village and regional wines often has too little fruit and too much acidity and will never be balanced. The premier and grand crus on the other hand, are getting better and better for each year. Rousseau village wines are often very good, and this wine is no exception. Nose is developed and gives me mushrooms, forest floor, moss and wood chippings. Spices, magnolia, barch and christmas spices. I'm a bit surprised over the level of development on this wine. No hints of any primary fruit left here. Perhaps it's time to drink up my remaining bottle? The palate is impressive. In a difficult vintage, Rousseau manages to make a very well balanced village, which covers the vintage acidity in velvet spices and a soya/mushroomish fruitiness. There is some drying tannins in the finish, but quite muted and covered by other aspects of this wine. Lots of development here. Spices, cardamum, sour rubber candy and decent amounts of concentration considering appellation and vintage. Good wine, but I don't see it getting any better. Will drink my last bottle next year. But my '08 premier and grand crus, can still sleep for at least 10 years.

    November 15, 2015 - Helles Erdbeerrot
Anfänglich recht zurückhaltend und leicht prägnante Säure.
Mit mehr Luft, entwickelt er sich aber zu einem sehr guten Gevrey.
    Erdbeeren,Johannisbeeren,erdig,würzig,mineralisch,zwischendurch floral.
    Seidig,gute Säure,glatte integrierte Tannine,elegant,frisch,doch gute Tiefe,schöner Trinkfluss.
    Mittellanger rotfruchtiger Abgang.
Gefällt mir sehr gut und ohne Hierarchie-Denken bestätigt er auch meine gute Wertung.

April 3, 2015 - Drinking very well with food. Crunchy bright red fruit, berries on the nose. Tannins in check, flowers in addition to the fruit notes on the nose and palate, very clean finish. Love this vintage and this is a great expression of it, with bright fruit and a zippy acidity.
