June 10, 2010 - Very nice summer S.B. blend. Nice peach notes with good mineral for balance. Will get more.

April 4, 2010 - Sauvignon blanc blend with crisp acidity and a nice floral component. At $14, one of the better LI daily drinkers. Sadly one bottle was corked. Light weight, but a very good summer wine. With shellfish or raw oysters, this is a winner.

New York Cork Report

  • By Lenn Thompson
    4/28/2010 (link) 3.5 out of 5 stars

(Shinn Estate Vineyards Coalescence North Fork of Long Island) Unique steel-fermented blend of chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling and -- get this -- merlot blanc. The riesling that went into this wine comes from Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, by the way. The nose is citrusy but showed a bit more nuance than the other two values whites in the lineup, delivering minerally seawater character and herbaceous notes. Lithe on the palate, lime and grapefruit flavors lead the way and are accented by lemongrass and well-integrated, juicy acidity. More of that saline minerality comes back again on the tangy, quinine finish.
