November 11, 2015 - Redux nose. Floral black pepper and smoke also. Medium bodied. Austere, but just sufficient fruit to balance. No charmer, but refined tannins and just 13%. Proper and with true sense of place

June 23, 2013 - This was an okay but not great syrah. Didn't impress me as much as a bottle of the 2008 Granit 30 I had recently.
Nose primarily pepper, meat, and leather, although there's a grapey quality that kept popping up which I found really distracting. Medium body, good syrah character.
Nothing to complain about, but nothing amazing either. -

January 19, 2013 - Cornas Fest (Shane's abode, Portland OR): Nose: Nice and balanced nose with tones of black pepper, black fruits, olives, leather, and violets. This is open to drink, but it is lacking some depth.
Taste: Full bodied with medium acidity and youthful tannins. This has some youthful and balanced tones of black pepper, black fruits, olives, and violets.
Overall: This is showing the vintage. It lacks some depth, but is fairly open to drink and is very enjoyable. -

January 19, 2013 - Cornas tasting (Shane's house): Like the 2008 St. Joseph we had to start, this too is showing intense black pepper on the nose with dominates anything else. The palate on the other hand is very tight and lean. The finish is bitter and tastes like mosquito repellent DET (someone else said ethyl acetate). Reading my note now I wouldn't think so, but I did write "may become like the 2004," which I liked quite a lot.

May 17, 2012 - Lovely floral perfume on the nose here, very typical and surprisingly delicate; gorgeous flavour in a slightly lighter format, very pure and elegant. A lovely Cornas for now and the next 5-17 years.
