October 6, 2023 - Was a good wine, but still a baby. I had a 1967 in 2017. The wine was still singing, not macerated and broken down. Tasting this 2008, I could taste the stuff that would allow this bottle to go 50 years. My advice is to make this one of the last bottles you drink. As we wonder which ones need to be consume due to age or sub-standard corks, don't worry about this one.
June 29, 2023 - 97 Jun 2023 notes after the fact, but just a fantastic wine. Hint of cherry fruit, not strong. Earthy, haw flake, slightly salty, light. Some improvement over 2-3 hours. Perfect balance for me. Maybe not the best wine ever but about as close as I will probably ever experience.
November 19, 2022 - Tasted over 2 hrs, bottle from secondary market
-med dark red minimal clearing
-slightly jammy liqueur-like black cherry
-med+ acidity, med/med- weight tart black cherry liqueur licorice slightly medicinal finish with tight med tannins accentuated by the acidity
-drinking pretty well now a bit less depth and complexity than expected may still improve but unclear if acidity will become more prominent like some '96s did
April 26, 2022 - Frankly disappointing. Acid, little fruit, little warmth to the wine. Drinkable but only with food. Bad bottle?

March 3, 2021 - Dark brooding aromas of sweet blackberry, violets, and roasted fruits. Palate shows lots of nervous tension with vibrant acid street and some chewy tannins still dominating the dark dense fruits. As such, comes across somewhat disjointed, but lots of nice raw materials. More time perhaps?

January 24, 2021 - Great nose. Palate is rich, earthy and developed Some secondary with plenty of life to go. Happy with this purchase.
October 8, 2018 - Decanted fro about 30 min, but I would recommend much longer. I got strawberries and raspberries on the nose, with some earth tones. Tannin were strong and good acidity. Well balanced but much too young.
