April 20, 2024 - elegant and round, tannins resolved, good ending. ready to drink

  • ONEFIVE Likes this wine:

January 21, 2024 - Lovely aromatics. Dense red and blue fruit a long with some vanilla, wet soil, and spicy green notes.
Amazing on the palate. Med weight, med acid, med tannin. Awesome balance and intensity of flavors.
This will drink great for another 20 years.

November 15, 2022 - Nose: violet, pepper, musk, tea, soy/hoisin, red fruits, truffles
Notes: medium bodied, still in good colors. Quite a distinctive salty aroma present in the wine. Interesting and nice combination of aromas. Rather smooth and classic LFP. Nevertheless the nose took quite a dive after an hour so I think this could've gotten a better score if the nose didn't deteriorate. Had this with a 07 and its probably slightly better than the 07.

October 19, 2019 - drop dead gorgeous nose but in the mouth a taste of burned wood distract from the fruit

August 31, 2018 - I may have delayed too long . A quite beautiful initial strike becomes muted and diffuse. I think the almost burgundian subtlety has gone on too long and has become vague . I like it , most will , but it is that little bit short of great The charcoal and pencil lead intro , merge with a definite floral note and become a quite harmonious whole . But overall it is short on substance, much to my dismay, as I drank it on a special occasion. It lacks a focus, a centre, and although lots of usual suspects appear , none have a starring role. Violets and crimson fruits, damson and plum are some of my favourite flavours and I blame myself for not having appreciated them earlier.

If you have a cold cellar, this could be really great right now.....
