  January 29, 2020 - (Mostly) Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Marino - Los Angeles CA): Served double blind to the tasting group, and frankly I was little perplexed here. 2008 character came through with its balance of ripe and tart, but more red than black fruit came through with elegant and softer styling that I’d never expect from Gevrey 1er Cru. Very refined, even while slightly more oak still showing. Good weight, good+ length.

  April 23, 2016 - MASTER BORGOGNA 2016; 5/10/2016-7/10/2016 (LA MADERNASSA RESORT GUARENE): Molto più aperto rispetto all' assaggio del 2014. Christoph è un fenomeno come ce ne sono pochi al giorno d' oggi. Esalta tutte le doti di purezza cristallina dell' annata per scolpire un Clos de Bèze aristocratico e mai strillato, con i raspi che distillano spezie orientali in un contesto di teutonica freddezza.... quasi sottile nell' incedere, ma stupisce la persistenza giocata su una potenza impalpabile, senza peso: un' eco indelebile che rimbalza in bocca. Capolavoro di eleganza assoluta.

  November 26, 2014 - WINE TO MAGIC; 11/25/2014-11/30/2014 (TORINO - PALAZZO CARIGNANO): Vino a cui portare rispetto e dedizione, ha bisogno di aria e ancora 5-8 anni di bottiglia. Naso contratto, ingolfato, da cui all' inizio solo l' etereità balsamica e piccante riesce a svincolarsi, poi con il tempo si intravvedono anche i toni amari del frutto, ma il bello deve ancora venire.
  In bocca è un classico figlio del 2008, acidità quasi da bianco, frutto primario e legno sensibile. Medio corpo, fine e tannino tagliente.
  Con il tempo si espande a spirale, la souplesse del frutto succoso e le vigne vecchie creano un connubio tra le spezie dei raspi e la maturità fenolica fissata dal tannino.
  Il finale è davvero persistente e ha la solidità squillante della grafite.
  Nonostante la contrazione all' olfatto e la palese adolsecenza, è talmente buono che si merita un punteggio altissimo, e sarà incredibile tra qualche anno.

  May 4, 2012 - What an impressive wine!
  No oak anywhere to be found, but a complex, deep nose of spice, tea and perfume.
  This is massive, dense and full of complex, deep and dark red fruit!
  The mineral and the acidity vs. the fruit are in perfect harmony and balance.
  The after taste never leaves, goes on for a minute + + +
  And this already at this young age.
