July 9, 2023 - Tasted with TH Pan. My feelings are very consistent with the other notes posted to date. This was a wine of great levity, ethereal and fresh. Lacking the purity of fruit or the muscular structure one might hope for in such a Gevery. Rather acid forward even after several hours of air.

Someone once drunkenly told me that Rousseau only makes three wines: Chambertin, Beze and CSJ. While at the time I found the comment to be arrogant, I am increasingly guilty of failing to convince myself otherwise.

December 18, 2022 - Delicate, silky, light ruby color. Cherry, coffee, and tobacco aromas. Moderately more acidic than desirable. Best consumed before long.

January 2, 2022 - Pretty subtle and restrained. More black fruit with a touch of red fruit and a little spice. Pretty and delicate on the palate. Enjoyable but leaves you wanting more.

July 16, 2021 - While not a dazzler, this offered up nice dark berry flavors with a somewhat leaner tighter profile. Good, but not great. Will more time help?

July 14, 2021 - Bastille Day Celebration with Lots of Champagne Rosé (Park Ridge Country Club): Small glass, brief note. Slightly more black vs red cherry here with faint spice and meat notes. Good length, just not quite as forthcoming yet as I would expect, showing a fairly firm middle and finish. Probably needs more time.

August 17, 2020 - This was drank alongside 4 of Rousseau's grand crus, so probably an unfair comparison! Ruby to garnet in colour. Bright acidity with a slightly Tart palate with sour cherries. A good wine, but sadly not at the lofty heights of the other Rousseau plots

June 7, 2020 - seems like LSJ doesn't do it for me (having had several producers and several vintages)... palate on this wine wasn't showing much if any fruit, and whatever other elements were there were underwhelming... read the other notes and am hoping that perhaps this bottle might be somewhat shut so won't try again 'til 2024 (if I'm disciplined)

January 6, 2016 - Prunes, hawflakes, wild berries and oak on the nose. Palate was oaky and straight-forward. Not much depth and complexity. When it was being side to side compared to claude dugat lavaux saint jacque 08, it was clearly less appealing as the sweetness of fruit on the palate was not expressed and less precision.

March 15, 2014 - Open 1 day. Very nice, expressive nose of cherry and tree sap. Quite young and primary, with chewy (crunchy) tannin, rich red fruit, earth, and a bit of herbal/stemmy notes. Medium finish. Incredibly young, but a very nice nose. Clearly, hold.

March 14, 2014 - Tightly wound and restrained at first, but this opens out really nicely with a few hours of air to show a core of incredibly pure, sappy red fruited flavours tinged by spicy, floral and stony accents. It's very primary, but there's great purity and finesse here and a remarkable combination of intensity and lightness on the palate.
