Community Tasting Notes 3

April 13, 2013 - Medium-dark rosewood color. On the nose this has a toasty, pleasant aroma of raisin bread. The palate has a classic port profile of dark red fruit and a hint of spice. However, the flavors seemed a bit dumb and flat. The mouthfeel was weak, one dimensional and cursory. If this bottle is exemplary then this wine is not built to last; consume immediately with expectations adjusted.

October 20, 2011 - 20 pabv. Wine was fermented in wood for two years and then bottled; wine was then held in bottle for about 3 years.

    Deep dusty purple.

Dried fig, cherry, chocolate overlain with an enticing anise pungency. When the first sip hits the mid-palate, its enormous juicy power becomes apparent in its juicy, semi-dry Dow style.,

A clean, minty finish is complemented by dusty, complete tannins. 90-91/100; drink now-2023
