August 21, 2014 - Still lots of fruit and a bit hot on first pour. Heat dissipated a bit after 15 mins in the glass.
January 28, 2013 - Decanted 12 hours prior to tasting. A single note wine which struck me as cooked plum seeming more like a zinfandel blend than meritage. Round on the palate with still noticeable structure on the finish, it is simple yet nicely constructed. An example of the nice rich kid who is just not nearly as smart as his other siblings.
November 2, 2012 - Pop and poured and drank over the course of the evening. Up front this is a big fruit bomb of a wine, overly fruity for my taste. Finish is decent but a bit hot from the alcohol. The Merlot seems to rule this wine even though it is only 14%, possible a Merlot lover may like this wine better than I did.
September 11, 2011 - Big, ripe, rich, but not fully integrated at this stage. Certainly on the hot side.
April 23, 2011 - Nose of blueberries, chocolate and alcohol. Big flavor of blueberries and alcohol and the alcohol takes over at the finish.
August 10, 2010 - Deep, rich blend. The Petite Verdot really punches up the nose with blackberry, floral notes, and anise. Big wine with plenty of depth. Palate follows the nose and adds a bit of chocolate. Finishes a with a little bit of heat and some good tannins. Age should take care of both the heat and tannins. Very good wine that could become excellent with time.
