April 8, 2024 - Wow, a friend brought it over tonight. Beautiful wine. Wish I had some. Might be fully mature, but no sign of fading.

March 30, 2024 - Very good, full body, fruity. Have not had it for several years. Used to be one of my favourite wines and still is.

March 24, 2024 - Just keeps getting better. Perfectly integrated, mocha and cassis on the nose. Delicious with ribeye.

January 21, 2024 - My final bottle of this vintage and I shared it with 5 other members of my wine group. I have to say they liked it much more than I did. I felt it was a little past its prime, almost all spice notes, some oxidation on the nose, and very little fruit showing. Still good, but nowhere near as good as it was a few years ago. But like I said, most of my group liked it much more than I did.

January 14, 2024 - Had the 2007 and the 2010 on consecutive nights, so felt the need to try this one tonight.

This is a good wine - however, I decanted for 90 and it was still quite disjointed - took until hour 3 for the heat to burn off and it settled in. This is dark fruit (blackberry, plum) especially relative to the aforementioned vintages; runs hotter with more tobacco vs. toasted spice as well.

Very chewy as it opened up, and then settled into a more pleasant texture with a long finish.

I very much like it, very happy to drink it, but if you can get the '07, '09, '10 or '12 instead of this? Go for those.

(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) Dark in color. Rich aromas of blackberries, mocha, licorice, earth, and spice. An opulent, expansive wine that opens up and spreads out across the palate. Beautifully structured with the tannins to go the distance. Capped off by an extended finish. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot. Champoux, Klipsun, and Taptiel vineyards. Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. 15.2% alcohol. Sampled at 68 degrees.
