June 4, 2016 - Clear, medium gold in color, presenting fresh aromas of peach, apricot, orange marmalade and honey. Fresh highly toned flavors of aforementioned fruit are beautifully balanced by bright crisp acidity. Richly textured, composed and tantalizingly nimble on the palate; a long honeyed finish prevails. Delicious.

May 21, 2016 - From 375ml. Strong honey notes along with orange, clover and light spices on the nose. Between medium and full bodied with excellent richness but extremely well balanced throughout. No traces of heat or bitterness; this is all fruit, richness and sweetness. Honey upfront along with tart orange, then adding pineapple and a variety of more exotic tropical fruits through the middle, finishing with clover, honey and more orange. There's so much richness right now that this wine is only beginning to show its complexity through the middle. At its best as it started to warm which allowed the wine to show the contrast between the sweet and tart fruit and allow it to come off as richer, rather than just simply sweet. The nuances, evolution and complexity are what make this wine special. It has the fruit and structure to last many, many years. As it sheds the rich mid-palette baby fat, I expect it will show even more complexity in the years to come.

April 30, 2016 - Another bottle that was amazingly good, so much apricot, orange rind, and honey with a long, long finish. I kept loving every sip.

    Long finish

December 21, 2015 - D&T over for xmas visit. Preferred the '08 Coutet as it showed more complexity and overt botrytis. This has splendid purity but more like an ice wine at the moment. Wait and see?

(Château Doisy-Daëne (Barsac)) Beautiful purity here, with pineapple and citrus fruits, elegant and fresh, with a really attractive style. There is a really fine weight to this on the palate, supple and rather more weighty and creamy, with softer and sweeter edges than I expected from a Barsac. There is some good grip in the middle though, coming in beneath the fine fruit. More crystalline elements on a second taste, with star fruit, perhaps a little more typical of Barsac, but also nuances of lychee, honey and cinnamon, so overall this is a very rich and expressive wine. Nevertheless there is plenty of good acidity beneath the fruit too.

(Chateau Doisy-Daëne Barsac) Residual sugar 155 g/l and 15% Sauvignon Blanc in the assemblage. A fabulously vibrant nose here, with melded crystals of honey and aromatic yellow fruits. A rather fat start on the palate, although it is composed and also rather floral, rich and elegant with a nice acidic cut. Great harmony here. This is very fine indeed.
