June 18, 2017 - Still giving so much pleasure; lots of pineapple and honey. My "go to" for a value Sauterne.

April 17, 2017 - Delightfull, but not very complex

April 16, 2017 - Has aromas of beeswax, honey, apricots, pineapples, cloves and mangoes. Its medium bodied freshly fruited palate has wonderful elegance, depth and delineation, nice roasted hints and excellent length. Decanted for three hours. This is superb.

April 9, 2017 - From 375ml. Served slightly warmer than previous bottle and it showed quite clearly. All tropical fruit on the nose this time. Much richer and sweeter than the prior bottle and while still in balance, there was a mouth-coating beauty this time around that was missing previously. While the previous bottle showed more honey, spice and only slowly evolving into tropical, this bottle was tropical from the start. Pineapple, mango, orange along with golden honey upfront, then adding the more tart notes of lemon and orchard fruit behind. Finishes with hints of coconut, vanilla, honey and integrated spices. The fruit that this bottle showed was simply beautiful. Served slightly warmer (as this bottle was), you do lose a bit of the complexity. Up to your personal taste if the trade-off is worth it. This wine has the richness and depth to last for ages.

December 25, 2016 - Pineapple, dried apricot over botrytis spice and vanilla bean. Very pure and long. The acidity is more subdued than I was expecting though.

(Château Doisy-Daëne (Barsac)) Beautiful purity here, with pineapple and citrus fruits, elegant and fresh, with a really attractive style. There is a really fine weight to this on the palate, supple and rather more weighty and creamy, with softer and sweeter edges than I expected from a Barsac. There is some good grip in the middle though, coming in beneath the fine fruit. More crystalline elements on a second taste, with star fruit, perhaps a little more typical of Barsac, but also nuances of lychee, honey and cinnamon, so overall this is a very rich and expressive wine. Nevertheless there is plenty of good acidity beneath the fruit too.

(Chateau Doisy-Daëne Barsac) Residual sugar 155 g/l and 15% Sauvignon Blanc in the assemblage. A fabulously vibrant nose here, with melded crystals of honey and aromatic yellow fruits. A rather fat start on the palate, although it is composed and also rather floral, rich and elegant with a nice acidic cut. Great harmony here. This is very fine indeed.
