July 17, 2014 - Just out of the bottle the overwhelming sensation was of "heat" (alcohol) but by the second day this had moderated considerably allowing nice black fruit to come through along with moderate tannins and long pleasant finish. Worth the price if you give it time and air to open up.

June 23, 2014 - Beaucoup de matière, de fruits, tanins assez présents mais BEAUCOUP trop de médicament pour que ce soit intéressant. Est-ce que le temps aidera?

May 16, 2014 - Just a superb Shiraz in the Penfold's tradition. Been 2 years since my last one and it has continued to improve. Decanted for 2 hours and it was singing at that point.
Vibrant nose of cherries and berries with a long finish. Velvet in the mouth. Great with a ribeye steak. Id you like Shiraz and you like Penfolds you will love this wine.
Many years left for this wine.

March 19, 2014 - Nose of blueberry liquor & compote. Heavy body with flabby acidity. High, dry tannins. Flavors of blueberry, boysenberry, raw chocolate with dried raisins on long finish. Fruit is subdued & closed down. Medicinal, port-like. Could be in funky drink stage.

February 8, 2014 - Screw cap. Initially was a bit closed, especially on the finish. Needs at least 3 hours of air; but was even better on the second day. Once it had opened up, it was a great wine. Seems not as opulent as a 2008 I recall, but has good structure and I expect has a long life ahead. Very nice dark cherry and berry flavours with hints of spice. Somewhat new-worldish in style but not marred by new oak. A wine to savour.
