May 12, 2014 - Light gold color. Restrained nose of flinty stone. On the palate this has none of the heft of great vintages of Bonneau du Martray, but rather comes across as more light-bodied. There's a subtle stony minerality and a hint of butter, but none of the densely-packed layers of flavors you'd normally expect from this vineyard. The acidity on this is mostly depleted, so I'd recommend drinking up soon. This is not unpleasant but doesn't reach the full potential of this Grand Cru. While it speaks highly of the BdM team that they were able to make a more-than-passable wine in such a challenging year (and one that has mostly held up for a decade, at that!), I'll be saving my 10,000 pennies to spend on more promising vintages.

July 5, 2013 - Day Five in Burgundy: Bonneau du Martray, Clos de Tart, Faiveley, Niellon (Cote d'Or): Tasting at domaine, bottle had been open 2 days. Lush, almost tropical. Very 2003 character. Big spice, slightly sweet fruit and spice.. Very good density and concentration. starting to show interesting evolution and earthiness in a very charming way.

November 19, 2012 - Brown Bag Wine Dinner @ Two Chefs - All White (TWO CHEFS, MIAMI, FL): - Yellow color with fast forming legs. It's in total harmony with a medium body. Polished texture with a long finish - Bob's wine.

July 16, 2012 - Still very fresh, no premox. Bright acidity needs food. Has a bit more weight than a typical puligny or chassagne but acidity like a Chablis. Fruit and alcohol as expected fr 03. I would wait 2-3 years to try again.
