December 29, 2022 - Agréable à l’ouverture sur son fruit et et son équilibre bien assis, mais ne tient pas le repas suivant.

November 3, 2020 - Very primary and somewhat closed nose. Concentrated dark fruits, but at this moment everything is overshadowed by massive, massive tannins. This wine will drink great 20 years from now.

May 7, 2019 - It's a little tight and thin immediately after opening but unfolds somewhat after an hour or so and then continues to improve. Shows a little cedar and black plum but pretty subtle with a heavy tannin load...I'm glad I waited this long before opening the first bottle. It's good and will hopefully improve as the tannin integrates.

June 22, 2018 - Dark red with a blueish hue and a thin rim. Fruity nose that shows some mature notes. Softened after a few ours in a decanter. Palate is fruity with ample but round tannins in balance. Will probably continue to improve and mature over another 3-5 years, perhaps longer.

May 24, 2017 - Some Madirans transform with old age and become more like a mature high quality Bdx with lots of leather etc and I think this is one of them since there is allready hints of that. Will try to keep my last two bottles for another ten years.

October 8, 2016 - Had with venison and roasted root vegetables. I expected very firm tannins and wondered if this would be too young still, but that was not the case.

June 19, 2015 - Midsummer eve grilled meats and wine (home): Modern style, meaning forward and with some noticeable oak on the nose. Quite some heat on the back-end, but also delicious and full bodied wine that should do well with the grilled meat tonight. (82)

Post mortem: wow, after six hours in the decanter, this wine shone. And the structure seems to hold up more than well. Several guests thought this was the wine of the night and it did well after all. (90)

September 17, 2013 - Brutally elegant and clawingly pure.
    Black-violet color.
Young also on the nose with hints of leather and sumi ink amongst lashes of aggressive fruit.
The palate is marvellous. Pure red fruit in a bed of darkness (coffee, plums, hinted brambles), severely aggressive acids and M+++ tannin of a rather drying kind. Aromas include sumi ink, red berries and leather in a firm neo-classical structure. Superbly balanced, packed and delicious.
Will probably reach 94 along its trajectory. One of the best Brumont VV's for me. Next btl (4 to go) in 2018-ish.
Decanted 5 hrs bf brought to Restaurant Tani in Gaienmae (Tokyo).

March 27, 2013 - A bit funky nose, not wery pleasant, (corked?). Taste is better, but very demanding. Tons of tannin and high acidity. Fruit is almost black, and needs a lot of time to get into balance. If you buy, do not drink right away, keep for a decade, at least!!
