December 14, 2021 - Past it’s prime. Nose is pomegranate, cherry and blueberry. Same on the tongue but still a hot finish. Generally, I would associate the hot taste with a young wine, but at 12 years old that probably isn’t right.

February 2, 2020 - Just a wonderful, intense, juicy and slightly spicy wine. Still going strong.

September 29, 2018 - Mixed Lineup (Kenwood Restaurant): This wine had some great nuance. It was quite elegant except for a blast of spice on the finish.

September 27, 2018 - Mixed Theme at The Kewwood (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Medium red plus color. PNP, drank 1+ glass over 90 minutes. This has improved significantly since last having this four years ago. I suspect were at peak now with a marked elegance that I often see with Beaux Freres. Not usually one of my favorite Oregon vintages especially for aging, this bottle is just lovely and shows no signs of deteriorating any time soon. The nose is beautiful with a perfume of earth and a touch of funk along with a cornucopia of spices highlighted by a cinnamon note. This reminded me of a Vosne Romanee spice profile. The fruits are largely red berries, blending harmoniously with the spice, earth and floral elements. There's an ideal medium weight here with soft integrating tannins. Very, very good and I wish I had more of these. 93 to 93+pts.
