December 31, 2020 - Very dark deep purple-red. On the nose: liquorice, back cherries, hint of tar. Medium bodied, some tannins still providing backbone; lacking something in the middle palate, dry black fruit. OK length.

March 29, 2020 - In a good place now, tannins are smooth. Benefits from an hour of decanting. Great value. Drink or hold for a few years.

December 15, 2018 - Beautiful color, full bodied red. Fantastic nose, lots of everything from dark fruits to notes of cocoa and leather to vanilla. I’m loving merlot based wines right now and this is a great one. The taste has dark fruits, nice berry taste. It feels rich and has a nice aftertaste. Needs food though as it is heavy. Good now but I suspect it could get even better over time. 91 with upside.

February 6, 2018 - Crimson-black, opaque; black currants, black cherries, earth, wood smoke, graphite, leather, black licorice; black currant/plummy, medium body, good acidity, excellent balance, firm grainy tannins, nice finish.
Decanted 2 hrs. Youthful but opened up. Fruity, berry flavour with good balancing acidity for rich dishes. Good value.

August 6, 2017 - Well balanced, nice aroma and flavour, however, seemed to have slightly flat fruit.

January 17, 2017 - Coffee, Asian spices, minerals, slight toasted Vanilla oak ... keeps on changing over the course of 1.5 hours in decanter. Decent finishing and great value. Keep 3-5 years or with one hour decant. (Alan's bottle)

July 6, 2016 - These 2009 Bordeauxs are rocking it for me ... seems like an excellent early drinking vintage especially at the less expensive end of the spectrum. Dark fruits, vanilla, baking spice.

December 6, 2015 - Very good, cheapish, Bordeaux. Youthful purple-red probably indicating that this wine will be better in 3 - 5 years. On the nose: dry, plum, sweet cigar cedar box, dried meat (bresaola). Still a bit tannic but sweet leather, at the back spice (cinnamon), quite peppery. Good with food. Lingers.
