September 11, 2021 - My only bottle of this delicious PS drank with babyback ribs. Concentrated fruit, integrated tannin, licorice. Drink or hold.
June 27, 2019 - Amazingly young and vibrant. Deep purple. Explodes with purple and dark red fruit. Very full bodied, complex, and bold. Big finish.
May 25, 2017 - PnP as third petite sirah of the evening. Still huge and tart-jammy. No hurry to drink this one.
May 21, 2016 - Carlisle Tasting (Shari's, Mpls, MN): Tasting pour. Youthful, big, dry tannins, dark fruit, lots of vanilla here, some alcohol as well.
January 9, 2014 - Might have entered the wrong vintage but drank the 2007 version. Love the Carlisle wines but this left me a bit underwhelmed. Maybe should have sat on it for another 5 years but the complexity and nuances of the fruit weren't there and the finish was unremarkable.
October 14, 2012 - Decanting is a must. Exceedingly tight upon opening, pored into a decanter then consumed for the following 2 hours. Opens up very reticently with copious black fruits and nice spice elements. As much as I like to drink Carlisle PS on the early side, this is a bit too young. Sorry to say it was my only bottle.
