    August 1, 2020 - I don’t think it’s past its window today, but I won’t wait to drink the others I purchased.

This was dry, balanced, tart, and rich. Preference wise, we tend to like the chardonnays with more oak. But this was an equisite expression of California Chardonnay!

November 10, 2019 - whether you like this wine or not depends on your tolerance for oak - there's a forest of it here. Not my style and (IMO) the wines age poorly. I would drink these wines young and cold. I have seen tasting notes using the term "Burgundian"; it is not that (at least the traditional pre-premox wines)

October 1, 2019 - Beautiful golden tinged color. Still retains some freshness despite being 11 years old. A well crafted wine.

March 15, 2018 - (at Magdalena – Baltimore) Another wonderful bottle of Kongsgaard Chardonnay – one of my favorite wines from California. This is big and rich with a nutty, caramel character that is beautifully balanced by zippy structure. I will drink up the remaining bottles soon as I don’t know how long it will remain this good. October 2, 2017 - Deep golden color followed by a deep, rich, full California Chardonnay. Brown butter, wood and honeysuckle fruit on the nose. Full palate but surprisingly bright finish. Maybe missing a touch in the middle compared to the best vintages. A very good wine. (92)

September 1, 2016 - Still youthful and rich. Possibly showing some of the wear and tear from living in my less than perfect cellar. A great expression of a clearly Cali Chard. Tropical fruits, white flowers. oak, honey. Crowd-pleaser again.

    July 12, 2016 - 5 & 10 Athens for Belated Anniversary

Rich, Creamy, Mouthfilling. Very substantial wine. Still showing well. I had it with flounder and a watermelon salad. Would also have gone well with a creamy cheese. Very nice - perhaps the best white wine I have ever had (limited sample size, though).

May 14, 2016 - Finally fading now. Still shows it's hitting in the concentration and structure of the wine but nose and fruits flavor is fading. Drink up.

April 27, 2016 - White flowers in the nose; elegant in its balance of excellent fruit and acid in the finish. A lovely wine.

March 17, 2016 - Supurb combination of awesome American style tropical fruit forwarding and mid. oak. Acid provides crispness while finish lingers in a most pleasant way. Excellent with all kinds of gourmet.
